Default HST 124grain+p save my life?

What’s up guy’s? I ordered the Federal Premium LE Tactical HST 124grain+p. I’m going to use that as my carry ammo into I get my hands on the HST in 147grain and 147grain+p.

Are the Federal Premium LE Tactical HST 124grain+p that I ordered still good? Will they be able to save my life if I’m on mortal danger?

    Yes, of course it will.

Even FMJ could, it's all a matter of what you prefer. I prefer 147 gr for carry, but honest to god I can notice the wieght difference between 115, 124, and 147 in a full mag on my hip.

Carry what you can, anything is better than nothing.

Modern JHP's should all be sufficient in a defensive situation.

Talking Re: HST 124grain+p save my life?

    yeah thanks

yeah...I'm going to try and order the Federal HST's in 147gr+p and 147gr.

In the mean time I have no problem using the HST 124gr+p..

I will shoot off my Speer-gold-dot 124gr+p & my Winchester XST's 147gr at the range and just stick to the Federal HST 124gr+p for CC & Personal Defense

Any quality ammunition can save your life. Shot placement is more important than what ammo you use. There is no magic bullet.

If your pistol shoots the 124 better, then I'd carry that. If it's the 147's, then carry those. We're talking very minute differences here, the entire HST line is very good, so choose what your gun likes to eat and shoots better. +p or no +p is also up to you and your gun.

As mentioned. Shot placement. Take a bunch of ammo, and get out and start shooting. Join an IDPA or IPSC or USPSA and learn to shoot under some king of pressure and time restraints. Take a defensive handgun course and learn to properly handle your firearm when the SHTF. All of these will do way more to "save your life" than what kind of ammo your shooting.

Remember, pistols are notoriously poor man stoppers. Hit your target. Hit it center mass and keep hitting it till it falls down and stops what it is doing that threatens you.

Other than that. What nineseven said. Pick the ammo that shoots the best in your pistol.

g/fs Dad was never was able to shoot 147gr reliably out of his glock 17 or browning hi-power.

    I believe I got 124gr 9mm gold dots.

He carries corbons in his 9mm guns.

Strangely enough, my local shop carries it at good prices (as good as online prices). Online, try http://www.tds-us.com/ (if you're a member of The High Road, there's a discount code, THR), www.streichers.com, http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/ or check your local shops, you might be surprised.
