Combat Mindset
It seems last week provided me with enough Monday Blog
topics to last several months. I really had a
difficult time deciding what to share with you.
After serious contemplation, I chose to show you one of
the best examples of the Combat Mindset (in action)
that I have seen in a long time.
Unfortunately, this perfect demonstration of rapid,
overwhelming and incapacitating violence against one's
opponent(s) is provided by a criminal.
Sadly, the good guys don't win this one.
Learn from their numerous mistakes, which are painfully
obvious to watch.
Understand that once the criminal made up his mind to
fight, he was 110% committed to inflicting maximum
damage to his opponents, as quickly as possible with no
regard for their well being. Such ACTION always beats
reaction and once initiated overwhelms those who have
not mentally prepared themselves for mortal combat.
Again, this is the best example of the Combat Mindset
(in action) that I have seen in a long time...

And please feel free to send me interesting photos,
videos and news articles that I can share with your
fellow Front Sight students and members. I welcome
your participation.

Re: Combat Mindset
Pretty powerful vid.
THread hijack:
What's the story on Piazza/Frontsight? I've heard good things about the instruction given there, but just looking at the web page I got the "kinda creepy, used car salesman" vibe...

Re: Combat Mindset
Did anyone get audio with the video, or is it just me? Tough to make out what the initial conversation/confrontation was all about. Pretty sick stuff at the end - I think this is what nononsenseselfdefense.com would call a "predatory" attack. No threat display, just a straight-up assassination. What do you do about that, besides not be there in the first place? Scary sh** ...

Re: Combat Mindset
Several months ago,I was looking through some FBI files on the "gangsta" mentality. Dude ,it was crazy!! It was designed as a training aid for new agents. The stats where insane .The gangsta was successful 7 out of 10 cases!!It was dew to the mind set!! At ten years old, they were succum to the idea that they were dead already and they would take as many with them as they could !!The FBI could not compete with that mind set!!
Scary crap, dealing with total indifference!! Yo!!
We also are sheep in the head-lites when you think about it,Something happens,my first thought,my family,"bang" I'm dead!! How do you compete when their first thought is"kill" !!!Last edited by dman; December 9th, 2008 at 11:33 AM.

Re: Combat Mindset
i think the first thing the officer to the left of the screen should have done was frisk the dude in the white t-shirt. why was he left alone? was he not part of the call? it seems as though they both walked out together... meaning they were together in this whole thing. why wasn't someone watching that kid?

Re: Combat Mindset
I don't know the details. The video seems to show poor police procedure and or lack of training on the part of the officers. (I assume the guys in vests are police). It's look's like the officers are not armed. Anyone know where this occurred?
