Default I assume getting a non-resident MD LTCF is next to impossible?

unless you have a very good reason? Like a police approval? So how come UT honors a MD permit but MD does not honor UT permit? UT is stricter than a lot of states. You'd think it would be a swinging door. Thanks.

It could always be that MD does not want it's residents to be able to legally carry outside of their state. I would think it is more likely that MD is restricting the reciprocity than UT.

You're saying that MD will recognize a UT permit? I didn't think MD recognized any other state's license/permit????

As I thought... (at the bottom of page 9 of this PDF document from MD State police:

"Q. Are out of state handgun permits valid in Maryland?
    A. No. The only exception is to armored car drivers who posses valid
permits from other states, who are On Duty in Maryland".

My uncle is a Chief of Police in good 'ole Mary-land and it's going to take a lot for even me to get one.

I'm saying UT recongizes a MD permit but not the other way around.

Maryland doesn't recognize Washington DC Metro Police as a valid reason to carry. Maryland is pretty much as strict as it gets. The answer is generally no.

Not really following this statement. A DC cop does NOT need a permit in the state of MD

If they live in Maryland near northeast DC, they might disagree with you on that, if my memory holds up on this one.

My understanding is Maryland won't grant a carry permit to out-of-state LEOs, even if they live in Maryland and commute out (VA, DC, PA) for work.
