How to register a handgun brought back from WWII?
If a veteran from WWII brought back a handgun like a 1911A1 or a German Luger, how would someone go about getting it registered if it has not all ready been registered?
I have scoured the net and only found past references to amnesty periods in the 60's and a propsed bill back in '02, but can't find anyhting current.
Any help would be greatly appreciated."We shoot to stop. ... Unfortunately, death can be a byproduct."

There is no registration of handguns. The stuff you're reading about is for NFA items most likely. Like if you brought back an MG42 somehow. The GCA (I believe it was the GCA) opened up an amnesty which allowed people to register undocumented machineguns into the registry for a period of I believe 6 months.
For just a normal old handgun I don't THINK you'd have to do anything.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association
