    Default Two Glock questions

Much difference between the Glock 17 and Glock 21 grips?

And what's the changes with the new SF designation? That wasn't around last time I was in the market, and it's new to me. Slim frame? Short frame? I have big mitts, so is the regular version the one I'd probably be looking for?

The SF is short framed. As far as I understand it the SF they took about 3mm out of the back strap to give a shorter distance to the trigger. It does make all the difference if you have a medium sized hands. Love the SF personally but then again a wear a medium glove.

My summer motorcycle gloves are 2XL, and winters move to a 3XL, and I'd *still* like more length in the fingers. :-)

Sounds like SF is something to avoid for me.

Any idea on difference between the 17 and 21 on grip size?

I wear XL gloves for a tight fit and 2XL for the palm to fit better (fingers aren't so much my problem but I can understand the worry). I have held both guns (17 and 21) and neither were off putting but I would recommend the 21. It didn't feel too small and was not awkward by any means. I haven't got a chance to feel up a slim frame yet but I don't think I would go smaller at all (at least for me). If nothing else based on the fact you have bigger hands it should feel even better.

I have a 34, which I'm pretty sure is the same grip as the 17. If the 21 is a much bigger grip, would probably pick that up instead of the 17. Hrrm. Looks like time to go visit a few local shops.

The G17 is for average to small hands, The standard G21 is for man hands and the G21SF isn't much smaller in diameter at all.

    Dear Mr. Giant
    ...

Dean, visit glock.com. Every gun has a L, W, H specs. You should be able to compare any one Glock to another. I suspect that the 17 and 21 are identical, especially the grips.

    1.18" and 1.27" wide, respectively.

I've owned both and they're palpaply different in width.
