Ok, so I changed things, you guys didn't like it much, so we talked about how to solve the problem. Introducing....

The New & Improved Classifieds Forum Rules

PLEASE READ THAT!

Pretty much the same as before except now we are going to allow bumping, but only once every 3 days. Also we ask that people mark their ads as [CLOSED] when they're done with them so we can keep the place tidy.

Staff is still internally discussing the standardized punishment for breaking these rules and what technical measures need to be put into place to actually enforce it. But expect it to be a combination of having ads trashed and/or losing access to classifieds temporarily. I'm sure for the most part it will not be an issue.

Just play nice guys!

We have not decided if/who we will be bringing on to help keep the classifieds clean yet, but we still want to. I wanted to make sure the solution was put in place first because I promised I'd have it done by tonight.

Dan, I also noticed we're not able to mark the thread as 'closed' even in advanced mode.

I'm having to 'close' 4 threads in the classifieds that I just sold today.

Dan, I also noticed we're not able to mark the thread as 'closed' even in advanced mode.

You can now, I made it so users can edit their thread titles (and in turn prefixes) for up to 31 days instead of the default 5 minutes. Hopefully that won't cause any unforeseen problems.
