Re: Replies to your own classifieds are now re-enabled! *ducks*
I just set myself a reminder when I post something over at arfcom for sale, I got an infraction my first time (which is why I suggested the rules at the top since no one reads rules until they get an infraction) and it hasn't happened since.
You should be able to edit your original post however as often as you want, because it doesn't bump the post, and doesnt change the post time.
So as long as it's just updating a current thread without bumping it you should be ok.
And as far as him saying that....there's so much more worse things being said on the forum (Have you seen the hitler's cake thread?) than that.

I think the problem here is just that the mods are too heavy handed

I don't mean any disrespect. I appreciate Danp for letting us post items for sale for free. I just honestly didn't think it would cause an infraction for bumping a few hours early. I know now and will wait until after my '72 hours'.
I never had an infraction before so I was upset. =(

If we don't enforce the rules, there's no point in having them.
The classifieds infractions are worth 1 point and expire after a week, it is literally almost impossible for them to result in a ban, think of them more as a slap on the hand.
It's really very simple: Follow the very clearly posted, heavily discussed, established rules, don't get infractions. 72 hours means 72 hours, not 71 hours. If it means 71 hours it might as well mean 61 hours which might as well mean no hours.Last edited by danp; December 17th, 2008 at 11:39 PM.

Re: Replies to your own classifieds are now re-enabled! *ducks*
My question goes back to a discussion awhile back that I am too lazy to look up. How do we know exactly when our post was made? If I made it 49 hours ago, the time will just read "2 days" and if I made it 71 hours ago, the time will read "2 days" So how the heck are we supposed to know when we posted something? We don't have a clue?
