Glock Gen 2 hasn’t been fired since 1991. Safe to Carry?

I have an opportunity to get a Gen 2 Glock but the gun hasn’t been handled or fired since it was purchased in 1991. The owner shot it one time after purchasing it. He didn't clean it after shooting it that one time and put a trigger lock on it and locked it away because it scared him. It looks brand new obviously and has the original box and everything.

My concern is does it need sent to Glock to inspect the internals due to the age? I want to make sure it’s reliable and safe to carry.

Normal guns (non plastic) just clean, inspect, load and go. IDK about plastic ones though.

That gen 2 will be fine, buy it, clean it, add a little oil and it will be gtg.

No need to send it back to Glock.

I have a 1840's to 1850's Hollis & Sheath 12ga muzzleloading SxS shotgun, a early 1900's Winchester 1892 .32-20, a 1910's H&R .32 Self Loading, a 1920's Colt Police Positive .32-20, and Steven Favorite in .32Long RF(don't know when it was made - it is old) - all are safe to fire.

Guns don't become unsafe to fire just because they are old. And 33'ish years is relatively young. Some of my youngest guns are in the 30yo range.

Just look down the bore with a flashlight to see if it has since corroded from not being cleaned. If not, olds are probably close to a million to one that it is good to go.

So it's almost a brand new gun, fired one time. Tear it down and clean it ( it's probably not that dirty)
Unless it was sitting in salt water it will be fine. I hunt deer with a 114 year old mauser.

The fact that it sat so long is not a problem. But, there was an issue that Glock corrected by installing new triggers assemblies and I believe the plunger. I had taken the Glock Armorer Course a long time ago and they sent me the replacement parts for the Model 17 and 19 that I owned.

Our carry guns had to be updated and I know a couple guys who wanted to keep theirs original. They weren*t allowed to carry them and were issued updated city owned guns.

If you are going to carry or use this Glock regularly, I would recommend you reach out to Glock and see what they have to say about the serial number that you want to own.
