    Default New ruger SR22

Picked this up today on my way home. Pleasantly surprised by the amount of goods Ruger gives you in the box. Two mags two palm swells two mag extension plates. Im going to get out and run it here in a few i think .

I love the feel of the gun, the look, pretty much everything about it EXCEPT the crap that the slide is made of. I would absolutely LOVE to get one of there with an actual metal slide. Is it as fun as it looks?

I absolutely LOVED my walther p22, but i just could not deal with the materials it was made with. If they ever upgrade to better materials, I will have to own one.

What ammo are you feeding it?

Don't expect Ruger Mk or Buckmark accuracy from it, but at 7-10 yards, it'll get the job done. I shoot mine at 50 feet just for fun, and it always hits the paper plate if I do.

Took my SR22 out yesterday with my 12 year old son. We ran 500 through it and had a blast 1 misfire and that was ammo. That thing is a blast. Also took a few shots with SR40 my son tried it and loved it. I took a few rounds with the LCP also my son just likes the 22 I can't blame him I like it too. You will have alot of fun with that 22 I am sure of that.

I'm running federal bulk pack through it and no hiccups. I also usually try to stick to ten yards and in with my pistols. I don't mind shooting 15 or 20 yards etc but I feel that if I ever need to shoot in a life and death situation its going to be close in

You have it right on both counts.

The Federal bulk runs as well or better than MiniMags in mine; always has. Can't beat the price. GameShoks are great; even the cheap and dirt Winchesters, so long as they're copper-nose. But if you can get the Federals, no point in doing anything else. If WallyWorld runs out, there's always Cabelas 2100 round plus an ammo box deal.

Mine turned omnivorous after a thousand or so rounds of copper. Others report that sort of thing out of the box. Others not so much.

You'll have no complaints with the SR22 at that range.

Keep it clean. Hell, it's easy enough, so you have no excuse.

If she gets fussy in a session, just swab the ramp with some CLP.

Oh, and no Hoppe's #9 on the polymer. No, no!
