Default My "pretty much finished" first AR build

Here is my pretty much completed first AR15 build. The first pic is before I mounted the light and my Aimpoint CompC3. The second and third pics are after I mounted both of those and added my homemade sling (which I'm still undecided about).

    Almost forgot the specs:

    Stag 2HT Upper
Spike's Tactical Lower with almost matching color fill
    ARMS 40L Rear BUIS
Magpul XTs and XTM rail covers (all FDE color)
    Magpul MOE FDE grip
Surefire G2 Nitrolon w/LED drop in mounted in a Viking's Tactical offset mount
    CAA Vertical Foregrip (black)
    Magpul CTR in FDE
    Rock River Arms LPK
    Aimpoint CompC3
Aimpoint QRP mount with additional spacer
    Aimpoint Dark Earth scope cover

Very nice. It's gotta feel good to be holding that beautiful machine in your hands, knowing your hands and mind made it. I'm about to begin my first with the purchase of a lower later this month. This isn't going to be like crack is it?

Like crack, never tried it so I can't say . But damn is it addictive! I'm already inquiring as to where, how long, and how much it will cost for me to get my next couple lowers. I wouldn't build them in the immediate future, but I'd like to have the choice to do it when I have the funds.

    I hear crack stinks...

Did you do those markings yourself? Can they be done without professional tools?

I didn't, but there is a thread over on AR15.com about how to do them. I've seen some that were homemade paint jobs that look absolutely fantastic. The advantage to that is you can use whatever color in whatever combination you want. I love my color fill, but if I had known that it was relatively simple to do yourself, I probably would have saved the couple bucks and done it myself.

I specifically requested that color fill combo from Spike's Tactical when ordering my lower receiver after I had seen it on someone else's gun over on AR15.com.

Here's the thread on how to do your own color fill

Very nice EBR. They're never finished, though.
