For 3 cops to be hit with ricochets, you'd expect to either hear they were firing MG's at hard target, or seeing if 00 Buck will penetrate steel plate at close range.

Otherwise, it would be:
Guy 1: BANG!
Guy 2:"Owch!"
Guy 1: "What happened?"
Guy 2:"I just got hit!"
Guy 1: "What, you mean when I fired like this at that target?"
Guy 1: BANG!
