    Default MG-42 MADNESS!!!

Very good and informative video on the MG43 and it's history. Great shooting footage also.

One stupid thing that annoys me is that woosh sound during the edit cuts/video transitions. Just a weird thing to hear in my headphones.

I recently built a semi auto MG42/59 from a torch cut part kit. MG42/59 is the designation for the post WW2 MG42. Mine is a 1966 Italian kit in 7.62 NATO. Very similar to the MG3 which came after the MG42/59.

It's the most frustrating gun I've built to date. They take a decent amount of hours to build then double that number of hours to tinker and troubleshoot until it works right. I'm told the full auto versions can be just as difficult to build but the semi auto conversion adds a further layer of complexity.

They are a fantastic design, but not without flaws and the need for maintenance and a knowledgeable operator/owner.

I even found matching ammo cans.
