hi I'm new to Pennsylvania and the usa in general. I moved to the Dallas area and I'm wondering what ranges are available in the area and also are there any 1000 yard ranges in north east PA? thanks in advance

1000 yard ranges? I think there is one out near Williamsport. There used to be a club range down outside Nescopeck, but I don't recall it being 1,000 yards. Not sure of the range up by Factoryville either.

Free, public ranges are located out near Red Rock and up in Suscon. They are run by the PA Game Commission. There is another one outside Hazelton and down near Bloomsburg. They are all 100 yard ranges I believe. Hazelton might be longer.

Nearest indoor range is the Cabin Armory and Training Center just outside Wilkes-Barre. It's limited to 25 yards.

Wilkes-Barre Rifle & Pistol Club has an outdoor range up near Muhlenberg I think. Not sure of the yardage.

Mifflin county sportsmen*s club has both 500 yard and 1000 yard range. Club steel every 100 yards from 400-1000 on 1000 yard range. 500 yard range suppose to have steel on it now. Target berms at 100 200 300 etc IIRC out to 600. You can bring own steel if you hang from your own hanger. I bring a couple. It*s 2 hr 45 min from my house and I*m a little north of Scranton.

I*m a member and get out 3-4 times per year. Mason Dixon PRs group will have 1 or two matches there a year

Mainville, I believe goes out to 300 yds.
About an hour from you, near Bloomsburg.

    .
The Ranges run by PA game commission are not free. You must have either a PA hunting license, or purchase an annual permit to use (same price as hunting license $37 per year IIRC) which you can purchase on line and print. Closest one to me goes to 200 yards. Before going read the range rules to avoid doing something not allowed and being ticketed.

Nice ranges, I use and enjoy
