    And it*s still illegal to ban weapons from a publicly owned facility because of this little thing called preemption. Reading terminal and the show are controlled by a quasi- governmental entity known as an authority. The only way firearms can be banned is if the renters, those organizing the show, ban them during the period during which they rent the building (or if the state legislator bans them their).

    which in this case i believe is whats happening. i thought the philly auto show was run by the auto dealers associating of greater philly. they are at least listed as the show producer.

    You've either never been there or you have poor tastes in cars. I've never heard someone refer to McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, or Aston Martin as "econoboxes". Not to mention the classic cars on display. The show sucks for other reasons, but it's not for a lack of exotics or badass classics.

    That is exactly what is happening. The facility does not ban firearms, the organizer of the show does. They have other events there where there are no metal detectors.
