Air rifle questions in PA
Hi, I’ve got a few questions about air rifles in PA.
First, regarding eBay: any issues to purchase used air rifles from private parties on eBay from people out of state and have them mailed to a PA resident? I am over 18 (way over lol)? What about if the eBay seller is also in PA, and you do the transaction on eBay but agree to meet up to do the exchange vs use the mail or UPS to send it?
Buying from the manufacturer: Are there any issues with buying directly from the manufacturer (in my case, I’m interested in something on the Gamo website) and having it shipped to me in PA?
Lastly, other than Wal-Mart or Cabelas, neither of which have a great selection, are their any reputable PA-based air gun dealers who have a large selection of new and used rifles anywhere in the northeast or Coal region of PA? I wouldn’t even be thinking about online purchase and the pain of dealing with shipping if I knew of a place to buy in person. Thanks.

Re: Air rifle questions in PA
The last one I bought, which was years ago, came through the mail (probably UPS) and I forget who I bought it from. I don't thik anything has changed since then.

Purchase away. The web is the way to go. Pyramyd air is good one to look at. Air gun depot is another. Comes to your front door, no fuss.

Re: Air rifle questions in PA
In PA, I’ve heard airguns arent “firearms”, or regulated as such, as long as they are under .25 caliber, is that correct? The ones I’m interested in are .22 caliber, but I found that to be an interesting threshold. I know there are some pretty fancy air guns out there, but they wouldn’t be in my price range, at least not for new ones anyway.

Re: Air rifle questions in PA
Airguns aren't "firearms" under federal or PA law, regardless of caliber. So that isn't an issue.
The one and only issue in PA is if your municipality regulates or prohibits them, which for the vast majority of us - it isn't a problem. Folks in Philly and maybe some of the other cities/urban boroughs/townships might have similar ordinances.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Yeah....long gone are the days when we could pack up such rifles and head down to Delaware Avenue and shoot the rats on the docks!

So since the subject has been broached, anyone whacking squirrels with airguns? and if so, what's a really good option for such critters (legally of course) out to maybe 25-35 yds?
Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government.

I've never shot at tree rats, but I've used a spray to keep them away.

I had considered getting a Gamo direct from their website.
They had a bunch of refurbs or blems for amazing prices.
Just decided it was a want and not a need, so I didn't order it.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Air rifle questions in PA
I live in a rural section of the Coal Region (Schuylkill, Lehigh, Carbon), we don’t even need to get our cars emission inspected, so I doubt there would be any municipal issues with an air rifle, but if there are, let me know.
