The Clinton County, PA, Lamar Township Volunteer Fire Company is hosting another predator hunt fundraiser alongside Miller's Gun Shop. "PETA activists" attempt to shut it down using intimidation, threats of violence and defamation.

A small town, all volunteer, private fire company that relies on fundraisers to aquire and maintain equipment necessary for protecting human life and property has recently come under fire for hosting an event that a vocal (not local) minority is opposed to. "Friends Of Animals" is leading the charge alongside other actors to sow outrage around the hunt in an attempt to cancel the fundraiser and smear it's members.

A campaign titled "Stop Lamar Township Fire Dept.’s merciless ‘predator’ hunt" was posted to their website and Twitter page on January 4th after dog piling the Fire Company facebook page and comment section a week before, ridiculing the event and it's members for holding the completely normal and legal event. They encourage people to contact it's members to voice their opinions and list contact information.

Hunting small game, furbearers and predator animals is a legal activity and is a normal part of the lives of many Central Pennsylvanians. These events are a popular way for those already engaged in the sport of hunting to give back to their communities while also doing something they love. Places like the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Association Inc have been hosting predator and coyote hunts like this as well as many other organizations across the Keystone State for years, this is nothing new.

Maybe if Friends Of Animals made a donation to the Fire Company on their website, they wouldn't have to have fundraisers they don't agree with anymore. Maybe the Friends Of Animals could donate their free time and become volunteer firefighters and actually be a meaningful member of their community. Maybe if they actually lived in Lamar Township, Clinton County or even the state they could actually be voting members that can influence department decision making. Maybe if they don't like hunting they could focus their outrage with the appropriate policy makers in Harrisburg. Maybe they will find some other thing to be outraged over when they get bored again.
