    Default Re: Non Resident LTC

All counties are legally required to accept and process non-resident LTCF applications. This is the law. Any sheriff or licensing authority who refuses to accept or process applications is violating the law.

This practice will continue until people are willing to stand up and fight against government authorities who think the law does not apply to them.

My recommendation: fight it. Contact GunLawyer001. See if he would be willing to take on the case, if necessary. Formulate a forward plan with him.

I did this about 7 years ago. The sheriff realized I was not bluffing and accepted my application, then issued my renewal. Now, I didn't fix the issue - all he did was take away my standing. But I think it is one step forward. If everyone did this, then either everyone would have their applications accepted, or we'd have a legal case to remind these sheriffs that we expect them to follow the law. I'll certainly contribute to anyone fighting this blatant violation of the law.

They can afford to lose that case with our tax dollars, can you afford to win it? Their immunity/impunity needs to cease.

    This. +1.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Buried in the link you provided is this tidbit in regards to non-residents: "Effective April 1st, 2023 out of state applicants will not be accepted online.
Out of state applicants must apply in person."
