I have no choice, I am in PRNJ. I have become accustomed to a high shoulder holster with a 2 Mag pouch to compensate the weight on the other side. Problem is finding light enough vests in the Summertime.

I've never owned or shot a 5.7 but I'd like to. We've just been spending
too much money on our house.
We've got lots of guns and ammo, and the homestead needs repairs.

I know the feeling. Fortunately there have been some great deals on 5.7 guns and ammo, like the rock was 299 a few weeks ago, and now i'm seeing fn ammo for pre-covid prices. $27 a box for ss197sr at psa, that's really as good as you can expect. But I've been seeeing fiocchi 5.7 for $22 a box, too. But I'm not sure about the quality of that yet.

Facepalm. If I come home with a new gun I'll be sleeping in the shed with the leaky roof.
    Those prices are unreal.
And FWIW I've gone through a bunch of Fiocchi ammo in .45 and .223/5.56 with no issues.
I would hope for the same quality and performance in 5.7.

I'm guessing a lot of bad neighborhoods would suddenly become safe when a dude

I have no preference for either, I just do as I do. I'll CC and I'll OC, sometimes the activity or venue factors in on which I do.

You can bet that if I'm out in the woods or along some creek the gun will likely be open. If I'm asses to elbows in a crowd it will likely be concealed.

My carry gun and method depend on the weather. I will OC a G19 all summer when it is hot. When it gets stinking miserable hot, I'll go to my pocket pistol. During the winter my carry gun switches the FN 5.7x28 .

5.7 is a special beast in the sense that it's strait walled bottleneck, unlike 5.56 and .223 which is tapered. Therefor, to properly eject reliably, the FN ammo has a coating on the casing that makes it extra slippery and prevents it from getting stuck after being fired. This is NOT the case with american eagle 5.7. Also FN ammo is crimped, AE is glue'd, there have been reports of the projectile falling out of AE casings when loaded, which isn't great either. And what's more interesting, is that in the USA, Fiocchi makes both the FN and AE 5.7 ammo in the same plant.

So while there are all sorts of new 5.7 rounds hitting the street, if they suffer from either of the issues that AE has compared to FN, I would not consider it reliable or trust my life with it.

Also, sleeping in the shed with a leaky roof builds character, and will make you appreciate sleeping indoors more.

I was fondling one last night. The ammo looks like mini .556
