OAKS 3 Day show DEC 15, 16 &17, 2023

I was at the last show and was t impressed by anything especially since I drove over 2 hours to get there I won*t be going back to this one.

I go to the shows and always pick up a few ammo cans from Jerry. He has the nicest condition cans around...and his prices are reasonable. Taking a couple newbies with me on this next one.

Does Jerry know you like his cans?

I'm figuring I know who he is as he does have the cleanest ammo cans but I have found some suitable one cheaper around the show when prices were on the uptick. I used to grab one or two at a time but the last time I got them, there were some at a better price for five so I got five. They don't go bad and there is no such thing as too many.

Anyone ever see vintage riflescopes at Oaks? Modern stuff of course but all I need is some old glass. Honestly don't remember seeing stuff like that.

I have tunnel vision and only see what I'm looking for. And I miss a lot of that anyhow. Anyhow, I'm confident that older stuff is floating around there but you'd have to frequent the shows to find what you're looking for.

It will be my first time going to this show and I mainly looking for some cool Aks, bakelite mags, wouldn't mind a nice German 1911 look alike, do ya'll think I may get lucky here?? Also wouldn't mind an AK chambered in 5.45 as I recently stumbled upon some ammo :-)

None of that is stuff that I look for but you never know what you'll find there each time. There is a vendor or two who have a selection of 1911s.

I would definitely temper your expectations. But there's only one way to find out and that's to go and look.

Generally going to a gun show with a shopping list leads to disappointment. It's much more of a "find what you're going to find" kinda thing.

Jerry's wife knows I like his cans...and she like my money...I get his cans, she gets his money...can, can.

There have been some others who had better prices, but they aren't consistent in the selection and in showing up. The fat fifty's are my favorite...pack a lot in them but still easy to move around. I have some of the 40mm cans full...very difficult to move. I have to put them on a dolly and wheel them around these days.
