With a bad ending if you don't have the proper kit. And folks at home need to know what to do too, not be a liability.

A few years ago, the scenario was pretty unrealistic and pure fantasy. These days, the need to get home without help and a vehicle due to countless things that can go wrong isn't that crazy.

I know. I didn't have a get home bag with a tactical knife lashed to the exterior in my vehicle before last year.

I have had a bug out/get home bag in my car for a couple years now. unfortunately it has many items not legal in the PRNJ so I leave it at home when going there to visit family.

This is the bag I have. The contents were ordered and added individually.

    Stop Holes: AC-1 in a semi-slickster setup + comms/maps
Plug Holes: Full TFAK Stop the Bleed kit plus an extra “distributable” IFAK on pack
Make Holes: CCW + the AR folded up in pack

And a plain looking jacket that can cover the armor and the slung rifle fairly well to try to blend in…

    Just like feeling prepared… 😎

    Whatever U do.... Blend in.

If you are in road construction country - bright orange T shirts and gimmee ball cap.

If you are in the boonies, then camo hunting gear .

If you are in urban environment - wear local sportsball team gear.

Muted colors, couple different goofy looking knit hats, hoodies, all useful for blending in.

Agree. I like dressing well, whether rather tacticool at times where permissible or totally gray/local tendencies if non-permissive…

Having a plain dull jacket and cap in go/get-home bag plus some “hiding gear” like a an OD poncho seems to make sense. Though, I probably wouldn’t blend in well at an Abercrombie photo shoot no matter what. Haha.

My plan has always been to focus on the avoidance & situational awareness part of Stop Holes.

Ohh… a small monocular/binoculars could go a long way towards avoidance. I’d like to upgrade to a QD clip-on thermal one that I could put in my pocket or slap on my rifle rail. But, other priorities first…

Thermal has its short comings too which is why you see such a divide in the night vision thermal camps. Particularly when glass is involved. I’d love to get my hands on an E coti but man I’m not paying that for something I’d barely use
