I bought 2 guns. Little ccw guns. I mentioned to my FFL that i was trying to teach my wife to shoot. He said that I can't let her ccw my gun without risking legal trouble, and the gun should be transfered to her and not me if she was going to ccw it. I assured him that was not the case, i just want 2 guns, but I thought it would be a good one for her to practice on.

My wife has fired a gun exactly once, and will be a liability in any situation, but she has her ccw to carry guns for me.

Another shining example of why you never get legal advice about guns from cops or gun shops.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. As one gentleman said, if I buy him the gun for Christmas, I wanted it to be a surprise.

But a pistola still has to be transferred, right?

Not always, per the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes. It depends.

Without looking it up, quoting it, and linking to a source...

An FFL transfer is not required for transfers between grandparent and grandchild,
between parent and child, between spouses, both must be Pennsylvania residents,
and the recipient cannot be known to be prohibited by the transferer.
I believe the transfer must also be a gift.

IANAL and this is from memory.

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Not if it's going from father to son/daughter or grand kid. If not mistaken.

Too many people go into gun stores and feel the need to tell the FFL their life story and why they're buying the gun.
In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

Too many people don't understand that a form must be filled out, and that
form asks questions. The answers carry legal consequences, and some questions
    might even be considered "personal".
    YMMV
