I believe they are following the footsteps of California, which is no surprise.

It's sad that there are some "Red" pockets in the rural areas of New York, but like Warren and Sussex counties in New Jersey, they appear forever condemned to be a superminority.

We'll see what shops outside of New York will be willing to sell ammunition to NY residents. I'm sure places like Sarco in Easton will have it posted that they can't sell ammo to New York residents.

I don't think that will happen, I've never been carded to buy ammo and I don't see that happening right now. And if it does, it'll be like prohibition was.

I definitely don't think it's legal or possibly even Constitutional but until it gets overturned people will just have to drive to another state. PA residents used to drive south for their fireworks. It's no different.

Like PA residents buying booze in Delaware?

At times, the PSP would check DE boozers parking lots and pull PA drivers over when they crossed back into PA.

Not too long ago, NYSPs were doing the same thing with PA gun shops & gun shows near the state's border. I think Dunklebarger's in Stroudsburg and a few others actually got sued by the NYAG for selling to NY residents.

I go to Buffalo from time to time. The last time I was there, I went to the Cabela's and couldn't find the ammunition. It was FAR away from the firearm section and was built in a U shaped pattern with at least three employees inside. It was fairly ridiculous then. I asked the guy, "You guys have any 44 special". He replied, "Let me check and see if her Majesty (the Governor) wants you to shoot cowboy loads...." and started laughing. He said he was ashamed to work there.....

Dick's in Oxford Valley was checking IDs and refusing to sell hollow points to NJ residents even though it is legal. I'm not sure that it's still happening as I try to avoid the store.

The Cabela's in Delaware has moved the ammo behind the counter now.
Sticks and stones will break my bones but hollow points expand on impact.

I seem to recall an incident, maybe in Hamburg, where someone loaded up a shopping cart with ammo and just walked out the front door at a Cabela's. It could be a reaction to that.
