Scope for a Marlin Model 88

I recently purchased a older .22 rifle, Marlin model 88. Anyone know if there is a way to mount a scope on this rifle? There are grooves above the receiver but I'm not sure they are deep enough to mount anything on.

if the grooves are there for a scope any weaver on rimfire mount should work on them i dealt with a stevens that looked like scope may falloff but its on and it not going anywhere

Those grooves are for a "3/8-inch groove" style ring set. Mounts a 1-inch scope just fine.

I’m a new member to this site and saw your previous post regarding scopes for a marlin model 88. I have a question in which I’d appreciate your input on. I have a weaver B4 scope that I wanted to mount on my 88. As you know, the barrel is pretty wide. Can you suggest scope rings that would fit? By manufacturer or website perhaps?

Welcome. None of the previous posters are likely around the site anymore since it's been 12 years. I'm sure someone on here has the knowledge and can hopefully help, but also if you try a Marlin owners forum you'll definitely find an expert there.
