On Saturday I saw a carload of blue haired cross dressing freaks that looked like they were going to either a fantasy comic con, a drag queer reading hour or the RF.

I was there last month. No metal detectors and no wanding. They were checking backpacks.

I haven't been there in a few years, but always carried concealed and never got stopped or wanded. I quit going when the actors/characters stopped interacting with the visitors meandering through the trails, the mud pit became PG and the joust became a non-contact sport. There were still some events that pushed the envelope to PG-13 and some musical groups worth the price of admission, but for the most part it was the same-o-same-o year after year and the kid friendly events were replaced with whiny brat orientated merch sales.

Dress as a cowboy, wear a nice leather holster and carry a shiney SAA. Tell them you're there as Hank Morgan.

Show up with a crossbow and chain mail, it's a costume. Show up with a .22 NAA in a belt buckle, it's a weapon of war.

(What are we supposed to call you?) If you have the right backpack and a kid in a stroller that it hangs on/under. Can't confirm, but it may have worked for someone once
