Not really. The finish on Romanian AK's is pretty rust prone, you need to keep them well oiled. The paint completely solves it. Plus you haven't seen the difference first hand.

Its one of those things that's somewhat difficult to pick up on camera, especially if you don't have something to do a side by side comparison with. It gives you more of a dark black finish compared to the dull gray of the park job.

Might be a little late here but I*d suggest an AK in 5.56 since 5.45 and 7.62x39 has gotten much more expensive and also of you reloads like I do 5.56 is perfect.

That being said a Zastava M90 for rifle length and they come with a nice Russian red furniture set. The M85 if you want a pistol.

Also the Polish Beryl is amazing, made at FB Radom factory.

Both are made in the same factories where they make their militaries AKs as well IIRC.

If you*re willing to tinker to get it running 100% and want to go cheap, a Pioneer AK but they seem hit and miss from what people say. The first 2 I own and love.
When ALL else fails...the AK won't !! Emotions...??? emotions are for people who CARE !!!

if you want a 556 ak just get the new psa one... they have ar15 magwells like the M90 and you dont have to worry about that shitty adjustable gas block tab that inevitably breaks off (also the M90 is too long to be practical)
