I am not a hunter but is a head shot not an option?

for some. but a slight miss and you blow a jaw off and the deer can run for miles. with an inline in the rain it is not a shot i would ever take.

Finally!!! Daughter got her first buck, 4 point, 3 on one side and spike on the other. We took a trip down to NC to hunt 2nd week of rifle season. It was exhausting and fun all at the same time. She got her deer on our final night of 3 day hunt as it was getting dark. The full moon and crazy warm temps, 83 in the shade during the day, didn’t do us any favors.

I shot a spike right before hers, first deer I saw during the trip. Others tagged out on first session, weird how the luck and positioning can vary.

Great time, met some really great hunters from PA who all scored bucks down there as well.

I’ll still try for a PA buck but with work I won’t be able to go out again until 2nd week of rifle.

Great to hear someone on this board did good.

Thanks! We left there Saturday night and drove into Virginia for a stopover. She couldn*t stop talking the whole time reliving the experience. A wonderful father/daughter bonding trip.

    Man. That's so cool.
Have her start a hunting log book.
She will.be able to.read and remember many of her hunts all over again.

I might have to take up hunting. There's a buck out there with a fucking peach basket on its head. I haven't seen a rack like that in years, if ever before. He's pretty far out but the .338 could get him.
