i think as long as your mags are empty and gun in one place mag in another and ammo in another you are ok and i tihnk gun needs to be locked somehow bullets in mag i tihnk is concidered a loaded gun.

dont quote me on any of this just be sensible while your in maryland and you shouldnt have any troubles from what i have found is cops seem to a little nicer in maryland from my experiences there. compared to the dousches here in york (northern regional not all just some)

Keep it unloaded, and locked where no one in the vehicle can get to it. Ie, unloaded in the trunk.

Whereas concealed carry is illegal for most folks in Maryland, locking a gun in the trunk to visit a range there is A-OK. They have some good ranges. If you happen to be near anywhere near Washington, DC on the trip, the NRA range and National Firearms Museum is only half an hour away.

What are you doing in Prince Frederick? I will be about 15 minutes north in Huntingtown.

I'm curious myself. I'm going to Waldorf to my parents house. What are the legalities of having a loaded gun in their home next to my bed? I know I can't CC while down there. I know I can travel to a bonafide residence. If I were to shoot someone in a home invasion would it be legal even it was not my home?

This really is important. Maryland considers loaded magazines the same as a loaded firearm.
Archie Gates: No unnecessary shots, Conrad, 'cause we know what they do.
Conrad Vig: Make infected pockets full of bile, sir.
Archie Gates: That's right, Conrad, that's what they do.
