Default Camo Painted Rifle - I finally did it!

I've been wanting to do this for several years now.
It was always a matter of no time, or bad temperature - or not having the courage to actually DO it.
Well, now that I've done it, I want to do it again!

I thought your camo would blend in with the rocks you usually use for pics...

    Thank you.
I HATED it at first. Then I went at it differently to fix it and I hated it less.
Now that I've accepted it for what it is (and not what I had intended) I LOVE it.

Why did you not paint the grip. Just curious as I plan on rattle canning one myself.

How did you do it? Looks too professional to be done by eye and some cans of spray paint. What kind of paint did you use?

I didn't want to affect the gripping surface.

Initially, it had a black rubber Ergo Grip on it and I sort of brushed some paint onto it at the top to try and blend it in.
I took some pics in the back yard against some greenery and the black grip just stuck out like a sore thumb, so I ordered a Magpul MOE+ (with the rubber overmold) in OD green. It blends more with the paint colors and I retain the grip that I like.

That said, a plastic MOE grip may have been OK if painted. Not sure.
The fore grip was painted and I did so lightly to try to retain as much of the texture as possible. Seems OK. I don't "grip" it anyway - it's more of a hand stop/point to pull back on when gripping the forearm.
