Question from new resident
I’m applying for concealed carry. I’m new resident to the area.
They ask for 2 recommendations.
Anyone know if the recommenders have to be in the county where you live?
Thanks

Re: Question from new resident
It depends on the county. They never followed up with any of my references.

Re: Question from new resident
I'm in Berks County, I did write in two names with phone numbers but no addresses and they didn't call and didn't care.

Re: Question from new resident
They do not have to be from your county. The LTCF application is uniform statewide. There is no requirement of in-county references and don't let them tell you there is (doubt they will, just saying.)

Re: Question from new resident
OP, you are in Centre County, one of the most 2A friendly counties in the state (in spite of the borough of State College...). No, it doesn't need to be. And the references will NOT be contacted. So just put whomever on the form. Take the application to the courthouse in Bellefonte and walk out of there, with the LTCF in hand, in 5 minutes. No return trip will be necessary.

Re: Question from new resident
In Chester County last year when I renewed they said just leave the references blank if I want. Don't know of any county that ever called references.
