Bullet weight vs Bullet length
Can anyone tell me what is the best weight bullet to shoot out of short barrel pistols?
For instance what bullet weight would be better for a 4 inch 1911? 185 or 230gr?

Re: Bullet weight vs Bullet length
I prefer the 230 Gr.
I do lose a little velocity in my 3" ultra.... if it expands...OK... but it is still a .45 ACP round moving at 800 FPS.
Going a little lighter might pick up a few FPS... but for me...not really worth it.
it is for you to decide. Opinions vary. My opinion is my own. take it for what it is worth... free.
