Handgun registration + moving question
Hey everybody, not sure if this is the right area for this question, but I couldn't find a better place and didn't find anything when I searched, so here goes.
I recently purchased a handgun, and filled out all the appropriate paperwork etc. On it, I had to give my address and my employers address. If I were to move, or to change jobs...would I be required to do anything? And if so, how?
Thanks for any help, and my apologies if this was the wrong place to post this.

Re: Handgun registration + moving question
There is no gun registration in Pennsylvania. Nothing to change.

Re: Handgun registration + moving question
Oh...
Then what was all that stuff I filled out when I bought the thing?
Just for a once and done background check?

Re: Handgun registration + moving question
Yup!
Granted, the Pennsylvania State Police keep an... ahem... database of all handgun transactions that go through PICS (the background check), but it is not a registry. That is, in addition to a registry's being prohibited by state law (can't find it right now, though), the PSP's database does not include handguns brought in from other states, gifted between parents and children and between spouses, and certain other situations. But at the end of the day, there is no registry or registration in Pennsylvania.Safety is a good tool for tyrants; no one can be against safety.

Re: Handgun registration + moving question
Sorry! I did a search on moving, it didn't even occur to me to search for registration itself...I just assumed.
Greatly appreciate the responses and helpfulness on these forums so far! Hopefully someday I'll know enough to return the favor to newbies like myself.
