Default House Republicans Stop LTCF Fee Increase

HB 1130 passed the PA House last week, but Republicans stymied Democrat Team Tyranny’s efforts to impose an additional fee to PA gunowners’ License to Carry Firearms (LTCF).

HB 1130, introduced as a Safe Communities Grant Program Fund, is responsible for awarding grants to improve public health and safety in high-crime areas, specifically installing and maintaining lighting and/or security cameras around high-crime areas; however, the Democrats didn't skip a beat to use this as an opportunity to target law-abiding gunowners in this Commonwealth.

But thanks to an amendment championed by our allies in the Republican House, Representatives Abby Major and Brian Smith, House Bill 1130 goes to Senate without any proposal to increase fees or infringement on LTCF here in PA.

While the PA House Democrats have struck at the heart of our 2nd Amendment rights this session, we at GOA appreciate the work of pro-gun legislators who did the right thing by countering anti-2A legislation last week.

We must always remain vigilant and encourage our legislators to protect our Second Amendment rights – especially when anti-gunners want to tax our God-given right to bear arms in self-defense.

Call Republican Abby Major (717) 783-5327 and House Representative Brian Smith (717) 787-3845 and thank them for championing this amendment that eliminated the increase to the LTCF part of HB 1130.

    Thanks for taking action!

I got this in an email and the amount wasn't mentioned. I checked the history of the bill and it looks like it was $10. Wow, a 50% hike. Now that's inflation.

I'm surprised the proposed increase was that low. I was figuring the dems would say at least $200.

Imagine if this was floated in order to vote?
