HB 1130 passed the PA House last week, but Republicans stymied Democrat Team Tyranny’s efforts to impose an additional fee to PA gunowners’ License to Carry Firearms (LTCF).

HB 1130, introduced as a Safe Communities Grant Program Fund, is responsible for awarding grants to improve public health and safety in high-crime areas, specifically installing and maintaining lighting and/or security cameras around high-crime areas; however, the Democrats didn't skip a beat to use this as an opportunity to target law-abiding gunowners in this Commonwealth.

But thanks to an amendment championed by our allies in the Republican House, Representatives Abby Major and Brian Smith, House Bill 1130 goes to Senate without any proposal to increase fees or infringement on LTCF here in PA.

LTCFs are self registration of gun owners.

You'd think that Democrats, who have wanted a gun registry since the 1960s, would encourage LTCFs.

Even the Violence Policy Center has weak arguments against Concealed Carry. The VPC are the characters who created the "Assault Weapon" controversy.


They claim that 2,490 people have been "killed" by "concealed carry killers". VPC has been tracking this since 2007. That's sixteen years.

"Currently, Concealed Carry Killers documents 2,231 incidents in 40 states and the District of Columbia resulting in 2,490 deaths. In 94 percent of the incidents (2,104) the concealed carry killer committed suicide (1,505), has already been convicted (512), perpetrated a murder-suicide (64), or was killed in the incident (23)."

The bulk of these "killings" were suicides. I see - get Dr. Kevorkian to kill you? That's OK.


2,904 / 16 = 182 deaths per year.

This is out of 22,100,000 CCW holders. This means that 99.9992 percent of CCW holders are harmless.

Stopping a fee increase is one thing. Eliminating the need to obtain a license to practice a constitutionally guaranteed right is another. Republicans are still pussies. Constitutional carry or it doesn't matter.

While I admire your spirit, sometimes you have to get what is possible instead of what is ideal.

An LTCF, at this time, is possible.

Agreed. The VPC are the creators of the "Assault Weapon" definition. The creator was Josh Sugarmann, who is one of their operatives.

Some in the Gun Control Lobby also defines 18 and 19 year olds as "children". If you use the same data base that the gun control lobby uses, and exclude 18 and 19 year olds, the "gun violence" drops by half to two thirds. Been a while since I poked into that thing.
