Re: PA House Committee Hearings on gun violence
The Committee sponsoring these hearings is the Judiciary Committee. If you can't attend, at least write and voice your opinion to:
Thomas R. Caltagirone (Chairman)
106 Irvis Office Bldg.
P.O. Box 202127
Harrisburg, PA 17120-2127
Ron Marsico (Minority Chairman)
218 Ryan Office Bldg.
P.O. Box 202105
Harrisburg, PA 17120-2105

Re: PA House Committee Hearings on gun violence
Something isn't right. The address listed with Carnegie Mellon University is listed as 1724 Forbes Ave. but the street address of CMU is 5000 Forbes Ave (trust me, I walked there for 2.5 years). 1724 is in Uptown and I don't believe we have any office space here, let alone an auditorium to house people.
More likely, it's held at Duquesne University. I google mapped it and that's right about where Duquesne U is located. But a search for "1724 Forbes Ave" doesn't turn up ANYTHING except the website that lists the address

Re: PA House Committee Hearings on gun violence
Ok, I called some guy listed on the NRAILA site (or whatever) and he said it's held at the Collaborative Information Center
It's 4720 Forbes Avenue.
We *HAVE* to get this figured out. This site posts the wrong address. I am leaving work and will contact whomever I can tomorrow to try and get this resolved.
Danp sent out a notice with the wrong address on it also. So, pretty much every Pburgh and local to Pburgh member is seeing the wrong address and not just a few numbers off but about 5 miles off!

Any thoughts?
EDIT: DO NOT expect parking if you attend this! If you want to attend and aren't sure how, let me know! You can park on my street and take a bus part of the way there. There are other streets that you can park on and take a bus. I will help you find a route if you need to but DO NOT expect parking within 1 mile of Campus and this building. Not joking!
Pisses me off really bad that not only aren't there legitimate venues to reflect the diversity of the State but that anyone willing to make the trip will get here and find absolutely NO PARKING! I am going and I will bring this up. I suck a public speaking but under the circumstances, I don't think anyone like-minded is going to be able to make it in without some serious preparation. Just wanted to let yinz knowLast edited by D-FENS; March 20th, 2007 at 05:50 PM.

Contact Judiciary Committee Staffers William Andring or John Ryan at 717-787-3525. They should have the correct information. e-mail addresses follow
wandring@pahouse.net
jryan@pahouse.net
Give them an ear-full about limiting audience with bad locations and times too!

I'm not going to be able to make this as I said I would above. My boss wants me to go to a seminar that morning. I'm trying to get out of it but that's gonna be tricky.

Re: PA House Committee Hearings on gun violence
A bit of surprise, I wrote to these two Justice Com members, about their unjust hearings, ccing my rep, while reading some other threads here. I cc'd my rep so she knew what I was telling them. Amazingly enough, I got a real reply, not some form email saying I got it, from her in minuted. LOVE my rep from the 101! We need more like her.
