I know this to be true for some medicinal users with high anxiety issues that render them unable to perform sans weed. They imbibe responsibly, as prescribed, and are model employees.

My opinion?

The permission of TPTB should not be necessary to defend oneself reasonably or medicate oneself reasonably. Guns are not a problem and marijuana is not a problem, it is the idiots that use both, whether separately or together, in unsound and dangerous manners that are the problem.
