PPD shoots man in leg w/man's gun while attempting to disarm him

Man with LTCF walking dog in Germantown when dog attacked by pit bull. Man shoots pit bull. Man flags down cop, self-reports incident. Cops says he needs to secure weapon. While disarming man, shoots man in leg with man's gun. Oops.

This is why when pulled over in states with no duty to inform, just leave your gun on your person and don't mention it unless asked directly* or asked to step out of the car.

*Some will choose to say "I have nothing illegal on me" but do so at your one risk.

Edit: No mention if man will be charged for shooting dog.

Ok, so while I was reading the written article, the video was running as well, and they were telling two completely different stories. The article said that after shooting the dog he approached the police to report the incident, then put his hands up so the officer could shoot him in the leg(sorry! disarm him *cough* *cough*). The video, however, said the cops had to chase him down in a foot pursuit, and in the ensuing struggle to disarm him the gun went off. Hmmm.
