Savage A22 takedown impressions?
I have been considering a Ruger 10/22 takedown for awhile. I recently came across Savages new version of their takedown. This version is only a couple of months old and I like the stock it comes with that seems to be a copy of an after market Magpul stock for the Ruger. I like that it holds 3 mags in the stock itself. I also like that you can get it for about a $100 less than the Ruger.
The Ruger though, is a proven gun. I have shot my brothers takedown many times and like it a lot. It has a lot of accessories and is hard to find anything negative about them. It costs about a hundred more and getting that stock for the Ruger would be about another $150 or so. So to get the Ruger in the configuration I want would be $250-$300 more than the Savage.
Has anyone shot the Savage or know anyone who handled one. Has anyone heard anything about the Savage that might make it something to stay away from?
Here is a link to the gun. https://savagearms.com/content?p=fir...ummary&s=47260

First I've seen it. Pretty cool.
Everything sounds good except the 10 rd magazines.
I wouldn't want it unless you can get larger capacity mags.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Looks like I will be the Guinea Pig on this one. Found it for $380 delivered to my FFL.

I'm considering the model 64 takedown, similar form factor to the Marlin Papoose and the MSRP is almost half as much, I've seen them online for $160 already

Maybe not what you want, I just picked up one of these, and it's been a lot of fun.

Yes, 8 rnd mags - you can store three in the stock (one's in the receiver). Aftermarket ones are available that will hold 15.
For what these are used for, I don't consider mag capacity an issue.Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges
