    Default Sellier & Bellot .223

Just wondering if anyone has anything to say about Sellier & Bellot .223 brass cased ammo. I ordered 500 rounds for my AR for plinking, and before I use it I want to make sure it's not going to cause any problems.

I used a ton of the 7.62 through my AK and it worked great. Gander Mountain had it in one time for really cheap and I bought all they had.

I think S&B is M855, not sure if your AR is .223 or 5.56. I'm not 100% but it should say on the box.

I have never used the 223 S&B but I used a lot of pistol caliber S&B and a little bit of 8mm. The pistol ammo was good stuff but a little on the dirty side, not Wolf or Russian steel case dirty but not "clean" like most US ammo. The price is normally a good chunk lower though and you can buy hordes of cleaning patches for the $ saved.

I'm not to concerned with ammo being dirty, I don't mind spending some extra time cleaning the rifle. I'm more concerned with ammo causing things to break, like I've heard the steel cased Wolf ammo has caused broken extractors, and damaged bolts.

I've used S&B ammo in my .30-06, .303, and some other guns I have. NO problems. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 3 for dirt factor.

Just wondering if you are going to share where you found the deal?

I was at Gander Mountain the other day. The box says M193 on it, not sure why their site doesn't say its 5.56, I thought that was a selling point

They had a 20rd box for 6.99. Not the best price, curious where you go it and for how much?

    You bet. I don't know if it's a deal, but I paid $159.95 for the 500 rounds from - http://www.ammunitiontogo.com

I'll be sure and do that.
