I have many memories of these past hunting seasons. Many. All my hunting buddies are dead now. Of course my son will still hunt on the property he leases with a friend in Maryland. And with a pacemaker installed on my right shoulder, I should not put any rifle to my shoulder that has any kick. It*s been a lot of fun. I have shot countless pheasants, rabbits and squirrels. And approximately 34 deer through the years. And just for the record and guys that have hunting camps, I would like to see deer rifle season start on Monday again. But I also understand the reason that some folks like the Saturday for them and their boys and girls. I started hurting when I was 13, with a .12 gauge Remington Wingmaster. My dad brought it for me at a hardware store in Lancaster and paid $75.00 for it. I still have it. Best to all you hunters this season, no matter what type of weapon you use.
    Swamp Fpx,
Sorry to hear you are finally done hunting and that youve lost your hunting buds.
Im still a youngster and wont turn 74 till mid Oct.
Thank the stars I can still climb my 20 foot high treestand. I've been in that 2B tree a couple days already and will climb again tomorrow morning.
Ive had a decent run as a deer hunter and have scored quite a few deer. I keep a hunting log which lets me relive most of the years Ive hunted.
I've used 8 different firearms and 4 bows.
I did finally get a personal Locator beacon. Ha. If I could be able to turn it on.
I decided this year to not go to my buddies camp and will spend time at my own recently purchased 6 acres.

I dont drink but a beer or 2 and they make an evening of it. i never liked football but sat thru more games than I wanted to. It was still ok before he got a TV and cable. Now It ccomes on when we get up, watch the news cycle thru a few times as white noise.
At my place, I only have a radio. Perfect.

With any luck, I'll have a few more years of being able to hunt before I follow your lead.

May you continue to shoot them 22s for quite a few years.

As far as the change in starting days, It makes no difference to me. It helps many with tight schedules.
Sunday Archery sounds good. Hunt when you can. Most of my friends shoot 3 rounds a couple days before rifle season, hunt a couple days with maybe a Sat in there and call it a season.

I have a hunting load already made up for my PA10 and would like to use it at least once to try for a deer.

Ok, Tomorrow is another hunting day for me. Good luck to any of you getting out there.
