Gun Number / Marking Enhancement
I see pictures of guns where people seem to fill the markings with white stuff. Is that chalk, paint, or some special uranium enriched flux capacitor discharge compound not available to us common folk? I would like to do that to stuff like the Nazi markings on my K98 the mum on my Arisaka, etc.

Re: Gun Number / Marking Enhancement
alot of times thats just to enhance the numbers. sometime its hard to see the markings on a gun (picture) when selling online, so people use anything from white out to chalk.

Some use chalk. I don't care for that because chalk is gritty. I prefer white-out. Just smear it on and wipe off the excess.

Clean the area to get rid of all oils then use whatever color enamel you want. You can put it on with a fine tipped artist paintbrush (or a pinstripping brush) or whatever and then wipe off the excess. They also make paint "crayons" to do this. Kits to do this can be bought at MidwayUSA, Brownells, Natchez, etc. Many people do this on their ARs to enhance the safe/fire markings. You can also get kits to do this in gold and silver.

I used a white crayon on my XD with decent success. Then you can just use a toothpick to remove it. It also helps to get the metal warm with a hairdryer so the wax melts in a bit.
You can also use paint pen from a craft store, just smear it all over and wipe of the excess with paint thinner or gun cleaner.Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President
