There's nothing "meh" about these things. They destroy forests and entire ecosystems when they devour 95% of the leaf litter in a forest in a single season.

The one place I saw the most notable damage is at a home I mow along the edge of the woods. I've been mowing that one for 10 years now and I'm quite familiar with the plants along the perimeter of the property bordering the woods.
The jumping worms were HORRIBLE there last year - literally not a single inch of the ground not covered in worm castings. (including in the grass)

This year, the forest floor is COVERED in Japanese Stiltgrass (yes, an invasive plant) where there SHOULD be leaves on the ground.
Without the natural leaf covering on the ground, weeds and other things are able to thrive, sapping nutrients from the trees and other native plants.

It's really crazy to see how fast those damned worms can destroy an area.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!
