Looking for a good place to buy 38 and 357
Wallmart seems pretty high in these two calibers. Is there a magical place to buy these that I am not aware of? Thanks.

Re: Looking for a good place to buy 38 and 357
Honestly, Wal*maret, along with others, seem way high on all ammo recently. Might be a good time to start thinking about reloading. .38/.357 brass is always plentlyful, as are hardcast bullets ($33.00 per 500 at the show today) and you really dont use a lot of powder in these rounds.
At the following numbers:
$33.00 500 bullets
$ 3.49 per 100 primers
$19.99 per pound of powder
I'm coming up to around $5.76 per box of 50. I know you have the additional cost of a tooling, but after it's bought it doesn't take long to see the savings.

Online check out Mastercast (http://www.mastercast.net/index.html). They have some very good prices on their remanufactured bullets-I have shot them without any problems. And if you send them brass, you even get a cheaper price.

Ammoman has 1000 rounds of Federal .38's delivered for $260. I plan on buying some and then saving the brass so it can be sent to mastercast.

andrewjs18,
FYI to pass on to g/f dad. If he is going to reload and SELL he has to have a FFL (Type 6 - Licensed manufacturer of ammunition and reloading components other than Armor Piercing ammunition). IIRC it's about $30 to get. And then he would need a PA Sales Tax license, etc., etc.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member
