I don't think I've shot any of my AR-15s after building an AR-9..

    Yes?
    No?

    Have at it.
Yes, it’s going to add a few more fps but just pointless IMO. If I need to reach out and touch a target over 100 yards I’m bringing out the rifle calibers. I just worry about accuracy at long distances.

What if you don't need to "reach out"?

I see that as a "reason" for saying it's "useless" a lot, but that's like saying a 16" 5.56 AR15 is useless, because "if you need to reach out to a target over 1,500 yards, you're bringing out a bolt action sniper rifle".

People that assume the only reason to have a gun is self defense or hunting make me sad. What is wrong with the pure joy of shooting? Targets, steel, dirt clods, random sticks, junk. I like it all. A 9mm AR fills the pure joy of shooting niche pretty well *for me.* I have tools for defense, I have tools for hunting, I have pretty toys, I have functional toys, I have heirlooms and I have projects. None of them are worthless.

Ringing steel at 100 yds with a 9mm and open sights is fun. Even with old man eyes.

Fuckin' A!!! That was exactly what I had in mind!

I can shoot your nuts off with my Camp 9, but I'd be lucky to get a gut shot with a handgun!

Thanks! It is pretty. It actually looks better in person.

I got it off a fellow POOFER this past fall. Came with six 20 round and one 15 round Mecgar Model 59 mags, and a new buffer and recoil spring already installed. Saved me the trouble of doing that myself.

I took the rail off because it made the sights unusable. I doubt I'll scope it anytime soon, or at all. Unless my eyes get horribly worse.

You just need a retro red dot for it, I put an old Aimpoint with magnifier on a Winchester 100 and it looks super cool

Not entirely, 44 mag carbine makes for a pretty nice all around gun. Still undecided if I want to put a red dot on it or not, the fiber optic sights are pretty nice and keeps things simple.

    Today was a good day!
