    Default Rendell and his failures

My clock radio came on this morning in the middle of a talk show and the host was talking about the Rendell administration over the last six years.

The U.S. economy grew on average of 2.8% in the last six years. Pennsylvania's economy grew at 1.6. The U.S. population grew at 1% on average and in Pa it grew at .2% mostly in the eastern part of the state.
Crime went down across the U.S. while violent crime jumped 10% in Pennsylvania under Rendell.

I wish I had heard the whole show but what I did hear was very telling of why Fast Eddie wanted a cabinet job so bad in the next administration.
Plus there is going to a big hole in the budget this year and next.
No wonder why he wants out? He wanted to find a way to pass the blame of HIS failures on another Governor who would replaced him.

I'm not a Rendell fan by any means, but how can he be blamed for a rise in crime and such?

Blaming him for crime going up is like me blaming you because the local convenience store was robbed. Everyone wants to point finger at leaders, but the ultimate responsibility is on those that chose to commit the crimes.

Everyone is ignorant of the fact that laws and officers do not stop crimes. The law only outlines what acts are illegal and sets penalties. Officers only arrest those that committed the unlawful act, they have no power or authority to do anything until the act has been committed - by then its too late and the act becomes another statistic.

It is not Fast Eddie's failure, it is the criminals' failure to abide by the law.

I think the host was making a point that Eddie hasn't been the hot shot Governor that he pretends to be. Like lets raise the Tolls on the turnpike by 50% then be surprised when the revenues barely go up and traffic goes down.
Then, here we are in 2008 and they have to lay off Turnpike workers because the traffic on the turnpike has dropped off a cliff. Duh. These are the same people that were planning for another major toll increase on the Pike in 09.
Want to bet it ain't happening?
I will give one accolade to fast Eddie he has stopped the hiring and has left 5K Pennsylvania state jobs unfilled.
That seems to the biggest drain on our economy is the ever increasing size of government.

And that is partially Rendell's fault. Instead of clamoring for more useless gun control, he should have been fighting to keep criminals locked up.

    Hey Fast Eddy
back off the social engineering re. "gun control" (which you didn't promise) and give me my real estate tax break...which you did promise.

If you put as much effort into tax relief as you did gun banning I'd have my money by now.

OBTW stop giving my gaming money away to your pet projects!

As far as a cabinet position in Washington, Eddie aint goin' nowhere. If he leaves, we will have a Republican Gov.

    Dirtbag Eddie.

raised pay by 56% for him and the legislature while failing to fulfill his campaign promise to raise minimum wage for the citizens who elected him.

allows our roads and bridges to fall apart, and has not eliminated the joint bridge & toll thiefocracy.

firmly in the pockets of the casinos (which are terrible, btw)

refusal to enact any healthcare torte reform... doctors fleeing the state

failure to reach a contract with toll-workers whose shut-down cost PA

taxpayers tens of millions in just a few days.

using $100 million of taxpayer money to finance a downtown Philly skyscraper for Comcast, a company that has so much money they tried to buy Disney...

absurdly anti-gun... thinks us little people shouldn't have guns to defend ourselves... easy to say when you're surrounded by armed state troopers 24/7
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

Hey lets not forget his biggest legacy, a budget deficet so bad he needs to lay off state workers and delate programs designed to help the poor, but he gives Boscovs 35mil. so the former owner can buy the company back. Nice going Eddie
