Default Re: Flash lights as a weapon

i was thinking about joining some form of martial arts but, to be honest, I dont have much free time. Some people from defencive carry said that i should look for options which dont include the special self defence bezel. They said it tears up clothes and can hurt you if you have to use it (in court). not to mention the fact that i have to take this whatever I pick on a plane. I'm going to look into olight now. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Matt

I like the idea of a heavy headed walking cane. They cant take that away from you, and you should be good off.

I have the 6 D-cell Maglight which is the size of a baseball bat and weights about 15 pounds. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of this monster. It's obviously not a concealed carry type of thing, but it is bright.

I carry one of these as well. I also carry it when I fly commercial. That and a couple other non-lethal items that don't seem to bother the TSA.

You've taken the E2D on a commercial flight (carry on) without any problems? My biggest problem is that i may not have any checked baggage. i need something that wont be confiscated. I dont think i can get the surefire e2d LED because it LOOKS tactical. Does anyone know if I can get an extra head for it without the strike surface? That at least if they have a problem with that surface they can take that and i could put my other head on.

Dont buy a surefire light....way over priced. There are other options out there that have better performance. Check out Fenix, Cree or Nuwai lights.

The self defense umbrella is an option http://www.real-self-defense.com/umbrella1.html

    Just another option.

Be safe (and don't scare the horses).
