Allegheny Co. Rifle Club - Schitzen Park Rd, North Hills

Hi everyone - I was wondering if anyone belonged to the Allegheny County Rifle Club in the North Hills, on Schitzen Park Rd. I would like to use the range as it's very close to my house. I called last night and the lady I spoke to was very nice. She said in order to join, I had to know a member who would recommend me at a meeting. She said they have over 1,200 members so I should start asking around and chances are I will find someone. I figured this is a good place to check too.

i'm not a member.

i have heard that they have very strict rules about what you can and cannot do there. from what i have heard, it is basically a "sight in your deer rifle" range attached to a social club (i.e., bar). of course, that may be what you want.

however, as i said, i am not a member and cannot vouch for any of that. but, depending on the kind of shooting you want to do, you should ask about their rules before joining. of course, that applies to any club.

been there a couple of times. They have an indoor pistol range, nice place to sight in a hunting rifle, nice bar. If you wanna run a couple hundred rounds through your EBR, it ain't happening there.

I am a member there, only reason is my dad lives over that way I get to do some shooting with him. I mainly shoot pistol but do on occasion shoot my EBR's, never had a problem other than if the range is crowded. They just ask that you be courtious of other shooters, no mag limit, you can shoot as many rnds as you like, of course you have to be in control just like any other club. There are alot of other EBR shooters there as of late. I am however going to join PMSC cause it's alot closer for me and seems everyone I talked to thats been there says nothing but good things.
