I'm interested in joining a group shoot. Also, would like to see a local club start. I like to shoot .30cal service rifle and practical pistol. I'm willing to help coordinate such an effort.

Welcome to the forum, mski! We had a group shoot in Wayne county back in the summer. Then the ranges shut down for maintenance. The one in Pike has reopened so that's probably where we'd go. It gets the job done but it is a high volume range. Meaning, a lot of shooters. Alot of punks too. NJ/Nyers come up and destroy it. It's a shame.

We'll have to get something going before the winter gets here.

    Hi Mski,
We have a shootersclub in the community I live in. Please pm me and I'll supply you with our info. BTW, our next meeting is 11/23 and we are having a demo of hand reloading techniques as our centerpiece this month. I can be reached at "hemlockshooters@aol.com". I will be out tomorrow for a gun safety course but will be back on Monday.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been to that range and ditto your observations. I've been concerned about leaving my rifle at bench while downrange, which is why I'd prefer a group.

Hmm...group shoot eh? I haven't heard from many people but I'm sure we can arrange something. Weekdays are out for me since I have class. So it would have to be on a weekend. I'm guessing it will have to be 183 since 159(d-berry) is closed. Weekends @ 183 are pretty jammed so we'll have to figure something out.

I think a group shoot would be fun. I just got a new 308 this week I can't wait to shoot it. I can do Wed, Thurs, Fri and maybe Sat early but it's usaully crazy. Might get better after deer season.

    Weekends are preferable for me...
I've got class during the week until a 3-week winter break. I'm not thrilled with going on a weekend but that's my only option. Once dyeberry opens up again, we'll have ALOT more freedom.

Mksi- It's a farther drive but it's worth it because it's literally in the middle of nowhere. Just outside of Honesdale. I think it was Snert who said it best the last time we were there "just when you think you're lost and start to turn around, you're there."

It's past Honesdale but probably won't be opening for another month or so. It's a low-volume range so you can usually enjoy yourself without the new jersey's running all over the place with their shotguns.
