question about buying handgun for gift
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anybody here has info about this:
I would like to purchase a handgun for my father for a christmas gift. HOWEVER, he has recently moved to Georgia. He will be spending the holidays here in PA. If I buy a gun in my name, can I simply give it to him without having to have it transferred at an FFL even though he lives in GA??? I am just trying to avoid having to ship it through an FFL.
Thanks guys.

Re: question about buying handgun for gift
No.
You have three options..
1. Give him the money and let him buy it back in GA.
2. Buy the gun here, send it to a FFL in GA to do the transfer to him.
3. Buy the gun, kick the bucket, and leave it to him in a will.
Since he is a resident of another state, the handgun must be transferred through a dealer in his home state.

What old headbanger said.... I'd vote for option number 1 unless the gun is significantly cheaper up here in PA.
