    Dunhams used to have them every now and then for $299. The lugs were ground off and the muzzle nut was tac welded on but could be removed and replaced as long as you were 922r compliant...but for the ones that have the lug and slant brake you're probably looking at about $400 for a fair price. I've seen price gouging recently where people are asking $550 for a darn WASR. No thanks. If you cant find one for a decent price save a bit more and get a better quality rifle from Atlantic Firearms.

    WASR10's

    Hi-capped with USA PG, tacked muzz nut and no bayo (and US FCG); $399.00. Last year - $279.00-$299.00

    Lo-capped with USA PG, tacked muzz nut and no bayo (Romy FCG?); $299.00 (sale just ended at $279.00)

    And FWIW;

    Been in 3 PGH-area retail gunstores over the past 48hrs;

    NO long lines of folks climbing over each other and waving clenched fists of $100.00 bills at the cashier for that last EBR on the rack.

    NO long lines of folks buying that last tattered box of .223 or 7.62.

    These dealers still had more than enough inventory.

    Bottem line; The sky is NOT falling, despite what the dealer-pumpers are posting all over the net.

    Gander, Dunhams, Sportsman's Warehouse.

    EDIT: True, should have qualified that; All 3 had ARs and other EBRS. Only Dunhams carries "AKs" as well.

    Dunham's:
    Monroeville - I took the LAST Hi cap $399 WASR yesterday- 2 higher priced ones remain, as well as 5 single stacks.($279/$289)

    N Versailles - ZERO hi cap WASRs - 1 folder, and 4 single stacks

    Waterworks - ZERO hi cap WASRs

    N. Hills - ZERO hi cap WASRs

    I didn't bother calling any other locations today.
    I'll keep looking while mine is on layaway. The mag well is a bit sloppy, and I'd like to find a better one, but I'm keeping that one "on hold" just in case.
    I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

    Want me to go look in Natrona Heights? I live like 5 minutes from the store.

    I'm there all the time.

    ?

    They seem to have a decent amount of stuff because all the suburbanites are not very pro gun. And if they are, not so much pro-AK.
    I thought about picking up a locap, and taking the US furniture from my existing AK I've pretty much replaced.
    And have a second.

    But, eh... I dunno. I'd just be doing it, to do it. Not really a 'need' or a 'want'.

    wow they are up a little as expected in price i want another one but must be double stack even if i need to make it compliant for hi cap mags id settle on a thumbhole stock one if i could find one. thank you guys for the information.... sad side note my car broke down just spent 400 in repairs so i need to wait a little to regain some cash for my purchase but will still check out gun shows always have plastic if it comes down to it but wuld prefer not to charge one dont need another bill

    WASRs flooded the market and generally were around $400.

    However, in the post-Obama victory that is no longer the case. What is happening is wholesalers are "turning off the tap" on most rifles including Romanian WASRs, Polish Tantals, Yugo M70s, even some of the Saigas.

    Check any retailer (AIM surplus, JG sales, classicarms.us, impact guns, you name it) and you will notice OUT OF STOCK. So is that the end? No. After a week weeks, AKs will suddenly be back on the market in "limited supplies" but at GROSSLY HIGH PRICES.

    WASR AK rifles, once the punch line to a joke among true AK lovers, will be sold (and bought in great numbers) for $600.

    Funny thing, it has nothing to do with Obama at this point- its simple supply and demand. And demand is through the roof.
