I wish the people who do things like this should be given, by the DA, the plea option of going to prison for a minimum of 10 years with NO parole, or be turned over to the victim and the DA/police walk away and say "I won't see or hear anything". Bet the thief opts for no parole prison .

This gun will likely be found by police in a raid of a drug dealer's den. It's just something that isn't that common that most druggies won't be able to convert cash or drugs into. It's why the police, (both local and state), are notified of the gun being stolen and when approximately. Then you can supply the pictures of your actual gun to show as proof of ownership. (Matching stock grains, coloration, dings, etc.)
You are from Lehigh County so that gun could also be in NYC, WB-Scranton, Allentown, Phillie or farther south depending on who or where the asshats mule their toxins from. I hope it stayed in your local area and you get it back. Nothing as of this morning on Rennug and nothing showed using a description provided was in the cached archives.

My 93-year-old mother has an apartment and is in good health and lives independently. Two of my siblings are five minutes away. She discovered one day that she was missing jewelry including my father's wedding ring and some other treasured heirlooms. It turned out the apartment complex manager, who happened to live above my mother, had a druggie daughter who stole the master key and proceeded to loot apartments while the occupants were not home.

She was eventually arrested when caught with someone's property but nothing was done except a slap on the wrist and some kind of drug counseling. And, her parents are still the property managers.

The gun being "discovered" missing implies surprise...inferring no break-in, no ransacking, nothing else missing.

Many stolen items are taken to fill an order. That is, someone expresses the wish to obtain such and such, a listener knowing where such an item is opportunistically accommodates. This is the very essence of an inside job. You have had contact with the thief or someone close to you has. (Ahem)...

Does anyone know what charges someone would face, in the state of Pennsylvania, for stealing a custom made funtional flintlock valued at over $2,500? I'm pretty sure it would be grand larceny. What other charges might apply? Thanks
